The Challenge
Prior to implementing the DataCare solution, LWP’s mail handling was paper and labor intensive. LWP wanted to improve the efficiency and accuracy of their mail handling, while allowing for sharing of information across offices and with with clients.
The Solution
With the DataCare solution, LWP is able to capture the mail at the claim file level the moment that indexing is complete. This allows them to handle claims more proactively and to speed the flow of information between all parties to the claim. As a third-party administrator, LWP services a large number of carrier and self-insured clients, each with unique requirements and workflows. The DataCare system is flexible and can be tailored to the needs of each LWP client. This has allowed them to create a highly customizable version to meet their particular business needs, as well as the needs of their clients.

In the old paper environment we would have to wait for the adjuster to review the mail and the file clerk to file it before it was available in the claim file. And, even then, it was only available for viewing in the handling office.
